Young film director Mahesh Babu's work has been appreciated in his third directorial venture Meravanige for which the Box office returns are quite encouraging now. Despite having young stars of unproved talents like Prajwal and Andrita Ray, director Mahesh Babu has been able to make a film which shows some fresh elements and which can be enjoyed by all the sections of audience.

Mahesh Babu, the director of hit films like Aakash and Arrasu revealed that the film's story was originally written for Puneet Raj Kumar by story writer Janardhana Maharshi. "There were some interesting features in the story which appealed in me. And when Puneet went ahead with other projects, he also said that the story can be used by me. The story was not in a usual pattern with major focus on elements like a family, brother sentiment, sister sentiment and college backdrop. It had some fresh elements when the lovers in the film move out to forests. I thought it was a challenging subject for any director. And to do this film with youngsters was another big challenge. I am happy that I was able to get a producer like Kantharaj who was prepared to support wholeheartedly to create a good product. And now there is some encouraging responses from many people in the film industry and also in the media about the film' says Mahesh Babu.
