Monica - main accused in Grover murder

Kannada film actress Mariya Monica Susayraj has been made the main accused by the Mumbai police in the murder of TV producer Neeraj Grover. According to the Mumbai Police sources, Maria had hatched a plan with her fiance to kill her lover Grover. She was apparently upset that Grover did not fulfill his promise of getting her a role in TV serials.

Maria had acted in Kannada films like Jhoot, OK saar OK and Ekadhantha has so far been considered as a co-accused in the case and police had made her fiance and naval officer Jerome Mathew as the prime accused in the case. Earlier in an in-camera confession, Maria claimed it was Mathew who killed Grover and that she helped destroy evidence.

Grover, was allegedly stabbed and his body chopped into pieces at Maria's Mumbai residence last month. Maria and Mathew then allegedly disposed the body by burning it. Earlier, police had alleged that Matthew killed Neeraj in a fit of rage, when he found him in Maria's house.

Maria and Mathew then allegedly cut up the body with a bread knife, and burnt it. They were later arrested by Mumbai's crime branch.
