Monica alias Mariya Monica Susayraj, 27 was arrested by the Mumbai police on Wednesday mainly because of her different versions of her statement to the Police about the case which was highly suspected. Monica and her 25-year-old boyfriend Lieutenant M L Jerome Mathew, were arrested on charges of murdering Neeraj Grover, the creative head of Synergy Adlabs.

Snnergy Adlabs had produced Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain, Shahrukh Khan's show on STAR Plus. 25-year-old Neeraj Grover went missing on May 10.

Neeraj's family suspects Mariya's involvement in his disappearance, the police said. The couple have been in a relationship since last year.

"One of Neeraj's friends received a business card from his phone on May 7. If Neeraj had forgotten it at Mariya's home on Tuesday night, who sent the business card?" his father Ambarnath has said in his complaint.

Maria has told the police that Neeraj met her at her Malad home around 10.30pm on May 6. He left at 12.30am when some friends invited him to a party in Andheri.

"Neeraj had said he would stay the night at Mariya's place. I was shocked when I received calls from his office on May 7, saying he hadn't turned up. Then, Mariya called to say she had forgotten his cell phone at her place. When we went to pick it up, Mariya made us wait downstairs," said Neeraj's friend Nishant Lal.

Neeraj's family and friends have also told the police that Maria has given them different versions of the story.

"The family has expressed suspicion about Mariya. She was the last person he was known to have been with before disappearing. On the other hand, Mariya has claimed in her police statement that though Neeraj had met her on May 6 night, he left at 12 am to catch up with some friends at a party in Andheri. We are still investigating the matter," Fatangare said.

In her statement, Mariya has pointed the needle of suspicion towards Neeraj's friends. "She has said two women, named Nisha and Varsha, called him saying there was 'naya maal (new stuff)' at the party and he should come and check it out," Fatangare said.
