Megavarshini, based on noted writer Saisuthe's novel of the same name, has completed filming after shooting for 40 days in rich locales like Karkala, Malaya Marutha, Shivaruur, Bababudangiri and other locations.

The movie is directed by K. Shivarudraiah, who is known to make offbeat films in Kannada. The theme revolves around the responsibility of children towards their parents. He has earlier made thought-provoking films like Chitrada Chiguru and Amaasa, Dhaatu.

Arya, student of Abhinava Tharanga School of acting, is making his debut as hero opposite Archana of Aa Dinagalu fame.

Lakshmipathy Kolar has written the dialogues for the film. Producer Doreswamy Gowda, a lawyer by profession has ventured into this project after knowing the capabilities of director K. Shivarudraiah in Dhaatu, a Kannada film.
