Director Ramesh confirmed in an interview: "Yes, I've been approached by the Kuselan producers to remake the film in Kannada. A lot of details are yet be finalized, but I'll be making an announcement soon. However, if Komal doesn't have the dates, I might just play the barber's role in an unglamorous avatar."
He also said that the movie will be produced by Seven Arts (the same banner that produced Kuselan), who approached him for the Kannada remake. The actor has made preliminary trips to Coorg and Nandi hills to finalize locations for the shoot.
