Sarigama a musical entertainer

Sandalwood is currently ruled by action and violence based formulae but director Sunilkumar Desai believes that he can still find audiences to appreciate his forthcoming musical, rightly named Sarigama, featuring young actors Prajwal Devaraj, Sunil Rao and Nakshatra. Ilayaraja will score tunes for Sarigama. (Desai's earlier musical film Nammura Mandhara Hoove was a huge hit.)

There are three main characters in Sarigama and the heroine is in search of pure love. How she manages to find pure love is the crux of the film. Prajwal is very happy to work with Desai and he plays the role of Manoj, an ordinary guy in love with the heroine. Sunil Rao's lifetime ambition has come true by acting in a Desai directed film with Ilayaraja scoring the music.

Nakshatra is the daughter of director D. Rajendra Babu and actress Sumithra. She is the younger sister of Uma Maheswari of Kallrali Hoovagi fame.
