Sheela invading Kannada cinema

After debuting in Malayalam with the successful Maya Bazaar opposite superstar Mammootty, Sheela is now entering Sandalwood with Prem Kahani to be directed by Chandru.

Sheela has changed her name to Maya for Malayalam movies since she did not want to be confused with veteran actress Sheela. She started her career with Seetha Koka Chilaka opposite Navdeep. The film and the couple of movies that followed it did not do well at the box office.

The turning point in her career came when she signed Parugu opposite Allu Arjun. The film went on to become a huge hit and Sheela was noticed. Now she is reportedly charging Rs.35 lakhs for Prem Kahani.
