Akshay walks out of BP Shrinivas' next film

Mussanje Gelathi director BP Shrinivas is again in trouble after Ganga Kaveri actor Akshay, who is playing lead in his next film Harishchandra Ghat, has walked out of the project. He is taking himself back from the projects insisting that the filmmaker is facing criminal charges.

According to Akshay's father Venkatappa, a criminal case was recently registered against director BP Shrinivas for cheating an educational institution in Goa of about 13 lakhs. Akshay felt that it would not be appropriate to work with such a person, who is a criminal.

The actor's father claims that he did not know about the criminal case while signing the movie Harishchandra Ghat. So he decided to quit the film only when the media published reports about his criminal case.

However, it is said that the actor has not received any payment/advance amount for the movie Harishchandra Ghat. When asked about this, his father says that they had some old commitment. Now even if he is proved innocent, Akshay will not act in the movie.

The movie Harishchandra Ghat went on floors on August 15. Actor Akshay and Shrinivas' daughter Shalini have been selected for the lead roles. Journalist Ravi Belagere is also playing a pivotal role in the movie, which has already been shot for four days.
