Ambareesh steps down as KAA President

In a surprising development, actor-turned politician Ambareesh has resigned to his post of the President of Kannada Artistes Association today (Friday, December 18). Ambi has stated that he is upset with the non-cooperation policy of leading actors and that's why he has decided to step down from president ship.

Rebel star Ambi has sent his resignation letter to the KAA along with a copy to Kannada film Producers Association (KFPA) and Kannada Film Directors Association (KFDA) each on Friday. The actor said, "Despite sending invitation, nobody is attending the meetings and other functions of KAA. How much can I struggle alone? I've also grown old and I can't handle this post. To organise any event, only me, Doddanna and Rockline Venkatesh will be there and others will be always absent."

He added, "There are actors, who are asking how long Ambi will continue in President's chair. Now, it seems my service is not necessary to the industry. So that's why I have decided to resign from the post. While resigning for the post of MP, I didn't think twice. This post can't be a big deal for me."

Earlier, Ambareesh was very upset on December 13 when a host of actors like Dr. Vishnuvardhan, Real star Upendra, Golden star Ganesh, Dr. Raj family members Shivaraj Kumar, Puneet Rajkumar, Parvathamma Rajkumar remained absent on the eve of Rajyothsava of Artistes Association. It is said that on the very moment, he had decided to step down from the president ship.

However, senior actor Doddanna, producer Rockline Venkatesh, director Prem have hoped to convince Ambi and bring him back.
