Aptharakshaka commences shooting

Written and directed by noted director P. Vasu, Dr. Vishnuvardhan"s 200th film Aptharakshaka has commenced on March 10. Dr. Vishnu reported for shooting on March 16. Most portions of the film will be filmed in a huge house in Palani.

Aptharakshaka is the sequel of the super hit Apthamithra. Soundarya was the heroine of Apthamithra; Aptharakshaka has five heroines: Bhavana, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Nikita, Vimala Raman and Sandya. The supporting cast includes veteran actor Srinivasamurthy who will again play the head of the family, and Avinash, who is retained in the role of the 'Mantravadi".

Apthamithra, which was a remake of the Malayalam film Manichithrathazhu, is based on Multiple Personality Disorder. This was Soundarya's last film. (She was killed in a plane crash in 2004.) This hugely successful film was remade in Tamil as Chandramukhi with Rajinikanth in the lead role.
