The news is already out that Aptharakshaka, the 200th film of Dr. Vishnuvardhan is the sequel to his earlier hit Apthamithra. Soundarya, who played the lead role in Apthamithra, is no more and the sequel will have five heroines: Bhavana, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Nikita, Vimala Raman and another actress.

Gurukiran, who composed the music for Apthamithra, is scoring five beautiful songs for Aptharakshaka and interestingly, the original song 'Ra Ra' from the first part, will be retained. Gurukiran explained that in the sequel, Nagavalli"s spirit is still in love with Ramnath and continues to haunt him. The director also decided to use the song since it became synonymous with Nagavalli"s character. The singer for 'Ra Ra' is yet to be finalized and chances are that Nithyasree, who sang it previously, may be retained.

'Ra Ra' will be composed again but the feel of the song will remain the same. Gurukiran, who is now at Chennai, is busy composing music for the other five songs which include classical numbers, mass tracks and a fun song.
