Veteran actor B. Saroja Devi was felicitated by Mrs. Parvathamma Rajkumar on the third day of Bengalooru International Film Festival. Expressing her happiness, Saroja Devi said, "It was indeed a pleasure to remember the old memories while seeing the photo exhibition of 75 years of Kannada Cinema. I was greatly pleased to be honoured by Mrs. Parvathamma Rajkumar and don't feel any difference if honoured either by Rajkumar or by Parvathamma. It will be a great pleasure to share the stage with Mr. B.S. Ranga on some other occasion as he is not present here today." She remembered how B. S. Ranga helped her finish the shoot of a film in half a day so that she could go for the next schedule.
Felicitating Saroja Devi, Parvathamma Rajkumar said, "It is sad that B.S. Ranga, who is one of the finest people in the film industry, could not make it for today"s function." She expressed the wishes that all the artists and technicians should make more progress in the industry.
The event also witnessed the release of the book and souvenir on N. Lakshminarayan authored by Umesh Kulkarni. Speaking during the release of the book, Umesh Kulkarni said that books about films were easy to write but it was difficult to write about film personalities. The differential lines between their personal and professional lives were often overlapping.
Speaking on the occasion, Vidyashankar, Executive Director of the festival said, "The theme of this third Bengalooru film Festival being 'Writers as Filmmakers', we have released this souvenir focused on Kannada cinema. Although we have advanced technology, we have attempted to create Kannada cinema documentation which can be preserved and passed on to future generations."
