Celina Jaitley has signed Shreemati

So the Sandalwood rumour has come true. Bollywood hottie Celina Jaitley has signed a Kannada film Shreemati. She will be acting opposite real star Upendra; Tamil actor-producer-director Prakash Raj also plays an important role.

In addition to acting, Upendra is handling the story, screenplay and direction of Shreemati. It is heard that the film is a remake of Aitraaz (Hindi) directed by Abbaz Mastan, featuring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. (Aitraaz, in turn, was the remake of the Demi Moore starrer Disclosure.) Aitraaz won Priyanka Chopra a Filmfare Best Villain Award. Interestingly, when Celina was offered this role, she rejected it since the character had negative shades. Later, Priyanka Chopra did it with fervour and received rave reviews from critics and fans alike.
