Gauri Karnik's debut in Kannada

Talented Gauri Karnik debuted with the Hindi film Sur opposite Lucky Ali. After Sur, Gauri did a disappearing act and was nowhere to be seen. Gauri says she was not ready for a full fledged film career when she acted in Sur and wanted to take a break. She completed her graduation and took a Masters degree in communication from a London University.

Now this curly-haired beauty is all set to make her debut in Sandalwood with Karanji. Vijaya Raghavendra is the hero. This film about five members of a rock band deals with the ups and downs the band has to go through and how the members overcome the stresses and bond together. Gauri plays one of the band members.

As in Sur, music plays and important part in Karanji too. Gauri, who is a good singer, used to practise Hindustani classical music till a few years back.
