Holi – a movie on devadasi system

Holi is a big festival in North India and it is celebrated very colourfully there. Now, a movie is being done in Kannada on this colourful festival. Titled as Holi, the movie is directed by Shankar Sugganhalli. Actress Ragini, who has acted alongside Sudeep in Ee Shathamanada Veera Madakari, is playing the lead role.

Newcomer Venkatesh Prasad is playing the hero in the film Holi. Along with Holi festival, the movie deals with a serious problem like 'Devadasi' system, which is still prevailing in India. The movie Holi has a village story as its backdrop. Kannada dialect of Hubli-Dharwad is used in the movie.

The story of the movie is that in a village, a girl is left in the name of god. The rich person of the village is infatuated by her and he tries to harass her. Meanwhile, a young guy comes to help her. He becomes friend to her and ultimately falls in love with her. Who wins her heart will form the climax of the movie.

Director Shankar Sugganahalli has penned story and screenplay for the movie Holi. Amarpriya has scored music. Pavithra Lokesh and Doddanna are also in the cast.
