Not forgetting that item songs have helped many down-and-out actresses to revive their careers and upcoming actresses to grab bigger offers by economizing on their outfits, the question still arises: Are item songs important for the success of a film? Can a film run for 100 days with the help of one or two item songs which do not have any importance in the script?

So, what impact does an item song of five minutes make in a movie of 150 minutes? Do you believe that item songs are like glitzy glamorous wrappers to attract audiences no matter if the film is not too great in other aspects?
