Kannada celebs reach out to flood victims

Finally, Kannada film industry has come forward to help the victims those who have suffered huge damages due to the heavy rainfall and flooding in North Karnataka. Many actors, directors, producers and even KFCC have decided to serve the people of rain-wrought havoc in this part of the state.

Producer Priya Darshan, who is busy with her first film Hrudayadali Idenidu, has given a cheque of Rs. 51,000 Karnataka to Chief Minister Relief Fund. During the press meet of the film, she gave the cheque. Shrnivasmurthy, who is one of the producers of Puneet starrer Raaj the Showman, has give Rs. 1 lakh cheque to Chief Minister Relief Fund.

Raaj the Showman actor Puneet Rajkumar has give Rs. 5 lakhs from the Dr. Rajkumar Trust. Talking on the occasion, the Power star expressed his heart felt feelings for the flood affected people. He said that he would do his best to raise relief fund for the victims.

Dr. Jayamala, the president of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), held meeting with its members on Monday evening. The KFCC decided to give Rs. 25 lakhs to Chief Minister Relief Fund. It also decided to collect money from various source. Its decision are to collect one day collection from theatre owners, organising Road show to raise relief fund, encouraging artistes to hold TV Reality shows to collect fund, contacting NGOs to provide grocery and other infrastructures, visiting rain and flood hit place to console the victims and construct houses for the victims.

Actor Ambareesh, the president of Karnataka Artistes Association, has given Rs. 5 Lakhs while comedy actor Jaggesh and producer N Kumar have given Rs. 1 lakh respectively to Chief Minister Relief Fund. Actress Tara and actor Shrinivasmurthy held Road show to raise relief fund from the public in Bangalore.
