Gulabi Talkies bags 3 Karnataka State Film Awards

Director Girish Kasaravalli's Gulabi Talkies has bagged the Best Film award from Karnantaka State Film Awards 2007-2008. Umashri has got Best Actress award for her performance in the same movie, while Puneet Rajkumar has got the Best Actor Award for his movie Milana. According to sources, Gulabi Talkies has got three awards. Director Girish Kasaravalli is all happy to receive the awards.

IT, BT, Information and Broadcasting minister Katta Subramnya Naidu has announced the list of Karnantaka State Film Awards 2007-2008 to the media on 11th January 2009. Vishu Kumar, Director of Information and Broadcasting ministry and the Jayachamrajendra Aras, Secretary of the dept were also present at the press meet.

Kesari Haravu was the president of the selection committee. Director Anandraju, producer Vijaykumar, Journalist KS Vasu, Singer Ratnamala Prakash, Cinematographer Ashok Naidu, Malathi Sudhir and Vishu Kumar, Director of Information and Broadcasting ministry were the members of the selection committee. They watched 45 movies and prepared the award list.

Best social concern movie Banada Neralu is yet to hit the screen. Gulabi Talkies has run for three weeks in PVR. Gubbachchigalu, which was exhibited in national and international levels, is yet to release in Karnataka. Savi Savi Nenapu has failed at the Box Office, but the award has brought happiness to the team.
