Education Department, Government of Karnataka has dropped the idea of dubbing Aamir Khan starrer Bollywood movie Taare Zameen Par in Kannada and screen it before school children, due to the opposition form the film industry. Kannada Film Workers, Artistes and Technician's Federation has threatened that they will strongly oppose if Govt undertakes any action to dub the movie. Now Department of Education has cancelled the project for the same.

"We strongly oppose dubbing Hindi movies to Kannada and condemn the Government for the same, said Ashok. Earlier, Government of Karnataka had decided to dub the mega Hindi serials like Ramayana and Tippu Sultan. But it had dropped the idea due to opposition from all the side.

"I had once thought of doing a movie like Taare Zameen Par, but could not do the movie in Kannada due to lack of budget," said comedian Komal earlier. There are many Kannada films, which are better than Taare Zameen Par. Instead of dubbing Hindi movies, Government should encourage such films.

Will Government of Karnataka encourage such Kannada films?
