Mariyadai turns Doddamanushya

Mariyadai, the upcoming Tamil film featuring Vijayakanth in a double role is to be remade in to Kannada, say informed sources. The Kannada version is titled Doddamanushya; Dr. vishnuvardhan will be playing the lead role.

Noted director S. Narayan will direct this film produced by H.A. Rahman. The Tamil version (Mariyadai) will be released in March. So the Kannada version will be made only if the Tamil version is a success, say the same sources. But all the pre-production work and preparations for shooting have already begun, it is heard.

Many producers are opting to obtain the remake rights of other language films since the state government eased the entertainment tax by 10% in the recent budget. But this is could be the first time that a Kannada producer is deciding to remake a film that is yet to release.
