PIL against Dr. Rajkumar's statue

Veteran Kannada actor Dr. Rajkumar's statue is now facing another problem after former mayor of BBMP, BV Puttegowda has filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in High Court questioning the installation of the 13-feet brass statue opposite to Rani Kitturu Chennamma"s Statue at JC Road in Bangalore.

Petitioner BV Puttegowda states in his PIL that BBMP is planning to erect the statue opposite to Rani Chennamma's statue on the busy JC Road, but this will obstruct the Chennamma statue, which already exists in the place. So he suggests to install the statue beside the Chennamma's statue.

The former of BBMP said, "He has not opposed the installation of Dr Rajkumar statue. Even some intellectuals have also supported him on the issue." He added, "There's a possibility that people may launch an agitation. Even Dr Rajkumar would have said no to such a decision."

However, BBMP had planned to place a statue of Dr Rajkumar at Rs. 12.6 lakhs, but now the cost of the statue has reached 22 Lakhs for two years' delay. Will BBMP wake up now and take some serious action to install Dr. Rajkumar's statue as soon as possible?
