Asha Bhosle finally forays into Kannada

Director Pratap Gowda has reportedly roped in Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle to sing in his forthcoming Kannada movie Manikya. Earlier, Bollywood singers like Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal have recorded many songs in Kannada. This is the first time Asha Bhosle has signed to sing in Kannada.

Asha Bhosleji has sung in over 14 languages including Assamese, Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, English, Russian, Czech, Nepali, Malay and Malayalam. Recently, Pratap Gowda had been to Asha Bhosleji to request her to sing for his movie. She immediately gave her consent to sing in Kannada without any second thought. Now, She will sing one song in the Pratap's movie Manikya.

Another specialty of the movie Manikya is that it is introducing Bollywood actors like Manisha Koirala, Tulip Joshi and Mithun Chakraborty to Kannada audiences. Actress Tulip Joshi will play a lead role, while Mithun Chakraborty plays villain in the movie Manikya. Actress Manisha Koirala will also play a prominent role in the movie. Pratap's son actor Jeevan Gowda is the hero of Manikya.

However, director Pratap Gowda is doing another big movie Udyan Express, which will be shot in five languages - Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English simultaneously. The movie will be shot with high-tech equipments that are used in Hollywood movies.
