Raaj The Showman earns Rs.1 cr on first day

The much hyped movie Raaj - The Showman, which was released on August 14, has started playing its magic on the Box Office. Puneet Rajkumar and Priyanka (Nisha) Kothari starrer was released in 150 theatres. The movie has reportedly earned Rs. 1 crore at the Box Office on the first day of its screening.

Earlier, it was reported that tickets of first three days for the movie Raaj - The Showman were sold out and many theatres had displayed notice "tickets for the first three days are sold out." It was even reported that Raaj – The Showman had broken the record of Telugu movie Magadheera after the tickets of the movie were sold for Rs.1000 in many theatres.

Even the release of the movie Raaj - The Showman had created great panic on the first day of its release before many theatres in Bangalore. Many desperate fans of Puneet Rajkumar, who did not get the tickets on the first day, started protesting against the theatre owners. Especially before Apsara theatre, the police were called in to calm down the situation.

However, many film critics are not happy with director Prem's script. They claimed that Prem's weak script has spoiled the movie. But Puneet Rajkumar"s mesmerizing performance in fight and dance sequences has compensated the lack of good script.

Besides Puneet's performance, V Harikrishna"s music, Mungaru Male fame S Krishna"s camera work, Different Danny"s action sequences are the other highlights of the movie. The movie Raaj - The Showman is a showcase to abundance of technical talent in the Kannada film industry.
