There were reports that Upendra"s next film Rajani is the remake of the Tamil film Ghajini which featured Surya, Asin and Nayantara.
But producer Ramu of Ramu Enterprises has quashed these rumours and revealed that Rajani is a remake of the Telugu super hit Krishna, directed by V.V. Vinayak and produced by B. Kasi Vishwanatham. Featuring Ravi Teja and Trisha in the lead, Krishna was the first declared hit of 2008.
Ramu says that Ghajini is already remade in Hindi and Telugu and he does not want to do it again. Upendra is in Hyderabad shooting for Shreemati, the remake of the Hindi movie Aitraaz; Rajani is set to start in April.
