Agni Shridhar to direct Shivanna in Thamassu

Agni Shridhar, who has earlier written the scripts for movies like Aa Dinagalu and Slum Bala, is now turning director. He will direct Hat-trick hero Shivraj Kumar in his debut venture Thamassu. The movie is produced by Saiyad Amaan (Bachchan), MS Ravindra under the banner Megha Movies.

The movie was earlier titled as Edhegaarike (Yedhegaarike) earlier. But Agni Shridhar wanted to have a unique title for his first movie. So he changed it to Thamassu. According to him, Thamassu clearly conveys the mood of the film. Besides direction, Shridhar has also written story, screenplay and dialogues for the movie. Sources claim that the script of the movie looks awesome. It deals with controversial subject like Hindu-Muslim differences.

Director Agni Shridhar says, "Thamassu means a cruel mind that turns to meditation. Shivaraj Kumar plays a violent man in the film. But he resorts to violence only to fight the evil." He adds, "Shivanna will not be seen with sword and sickle in this film. The movie gives out a positive message."

Shridhar is well known for his realistic stories. He says, “It"s a real-life incident that occurred in Gujarat and I"ve made it the premise of my film. But it also has cinematic elements to make it appealing to viewers."

However, the movie Thamassu has two heroines to support the hero in his mission. The names of actresses like Navya Nair and Kamalini Mukherjee are said to be under consideration for the female leads. Sandeep Chowta scores music for the movie, which is expected to go on sets from 23rd October.
