Srinagar Kitty - Interview

Krishnamurthy alias Srinagar Kitty, who is considered one among the cute actors of Kannada film industry, is now slowly winning the hearts of Kannada audiences after the success of the movie Savaari. Earlier, he has acted in more than ten Kannada movies, but no other movie was successful at the Box Office. Although Savaari is also not a big hit, it is successful in getting him an essential break.

Compared to other Kannada actors, Kitty has got different charm. Recently, the actor walked into Oneindia office to share his happy moments of Savaari success. He looked calm, quiet, simple, straight forward and open hearted actor. Here are few excerpts of Srinagar Kitty"s interview.

When did you enter film industry?
I entered Kannada film industry when I was in 9th standard. I debuted in Kannada films through the movie Chukki Chandrama. As a hero, Giri is my first movie. I have also played roles like villain and other character roles. S Narayan is my first guru and he only introduced me to films.

Have you reached your expected level?
As for as success is concerned, I should say that I have got it. I have played different types of roles, which have got me lot of recognition. Even, I have got good response from audiences for these roles.

You have acted in more than ten Kannada films. What is your opinion about the Kannada film industry? Do you find any difference in acting in small screen and big screen industries?
I have entered this industry to pursue an acting career. So far, I"ve seen many ups, and downs in this industry, but they haven"t hurt or discouraged me. Instead, they have taught me and made me even bolder than earlier. There are no much differences in small screen and big screen industries these days. Earlier, there was different dimension to view small screen actors. They were always under estimated and not treated equal to big screen actors. But now, the situation has changed. A small screen actor will not have any difficulty in acting in films. In fact, acting in small screen is getting base and recognition to the artists. Live examples for this are the big actors like Ganesh, Sudeep and Darshan.
