Mano Murthy launches Swarathma's first album

Bangalore based rock/fusion band Swarathma has recently launched its first album at a grand function held in Opas near Palace ground, Bangalore. Mungaru Male fame musician Mano Murthy has launched the album, while another music director Gurukiran was present at the function.

Presently Swarathma is also thinking of a video album. Its latest album consists of 8 songs, 7 Hindi and a Kannada song. All the 8 songs are original songs and not even one is remix song. The band is conducting a promotional tour in Pune, Mumbai and Delhi after the launch of the album. Radio City has played a dominant role in launching the album. The album has been launched on time as per the contract with EMI Virgin Records, says the band's base guitarist Jishnu Dasgupta.

Speaking on the occasion, Mano Murthy wished the band good luck. He said that new talents should come out with new kinds of music. The people in Bangalore love all kinds of music. Swarathma would see more and more success in future.

Guitarist Vasu Dixit and Abhinath Kumar started the rock fusion band Swarathma in Mysore in 2002. Singer Pavankumar, drummer Montre Manuel, main guitarist Varun, Sanjeev Nayak, singer and base guitarist Jishnu Dasgupta joined the band later. The band came to light when it won the Radio City Live 2006 in Bangalore. Kannada rock song 'Ee Bhoomi' brought the band a lot of recognition. The band is considered as the first Desi rock/fusion band.
