T.S. Nagabharana, ace director and chairman of the Karnataka Cinema Academy has opposed the wish expressed by superstar Rajinikanth to play the role of Dalavai Mudanna. Speaking to the media, this director of national and international repute said that the role would probabaly not suit Rajni due to the age factor.

But Nagabharana kept quiet for a while when asked which actor will be best-suited for the role. He said this role requires an actor to have great amount of maturity and he needs to be of the right age to perform such a demanding role. In fact, Nagabharana had conceived the film a while ago with Prakashraj in the lead, but the film failed to take off. On a lighter note, he added that the costumes that he and his wife had prepared for the film were later used in Kallarali Hoovagi. Right now, he is thinking about reviving his project with Arjun Sarja in the lead.

Nagabharana, who has been appointed as the first chairman of the cinema academy, will hold the first meeting on May 16. He wants to make the academy a role model for other state cinema academies and is studying the structure and working of the Kerala Cinema Academy.
