Upendra's stars shining bright

Buddhivantha, real star Upendra's only release last year was a super duper hit. Released in September 2008, it has crossed 100 days run in more than 25 theatres and is still going strong.

Now, Uppi has more to look forward to in 2009 with two big-budget films almost ready for release. Bhimoo's Bang Bang Kids (in which Ramya and Parvathi Melton play the female lead roles) will be releasing in January. Dubai Babu, the Kannada remake of the Telugu film Dubai Seenu has only two songs left to be filmed. Produced by Shailendra Babu, directed by Naganna and with Nikita as heroine, Dubai Babu is the fourth film that Upendra and Naganna are doing together. Shailandra Babu is spending lavishly on this big-budget project with Rs. 60 lakhs spent for a 12 day shoot in Mumbai.

Another untitled film for which Upendra has written the story and script will be on the floors soon. In all, Upendra is definitely going to cherish 2009 as a remarkable year in his career.
