Vijay to get back his six packs for Shankar IPS

Kannada actor Vijay has appeared in rural oriented roles in most of his previous films like Duniya, Taakat and Janglee. Now, the actor is all set to play a totally different role in his forthcoming movie Shankar IPS. He is ready to get back his six packs to play a tough cop in the film.

Vijay"s new film Shankar IPS went on the floors on Thursday morning at JP Nagar Venkataramanaswamy temple. In the film Shankar IPS, his role is extremely urban and he speaks in urban Kannada which will have a fair mix of English words. Bollywood costume designer Irfan Khatri is making debut in Kannada to give a new look to Vijay.

Vijay has been making conscious efforts to change his looks to give a feel to the character he portrays. He is importing Proto-X proteins from USA to look his physique stronger and better. He is also doing two hour workouts every day to look trim and fit. His physical instructor Kitty has been giving him rigorous training to prepare him for the role of a very strict police office.

Shankar IPS is directed by MS Ramesh and produced by K Manju. Bangalore based model Catherina is starring alongside Vijay. The movie will have Gurukiran"s music and Dasari Seenu"s camera work. Avinash, Rangayana Raghu and others are in the cast. The film will be shot in Mysore and surroundings.

However, Vijay is acting in director Sadhu Kokila"s movie Devaru. He has already completed the shooting of the film, which is slated to release on November 6. He is also appearing in the movie Karichirathe. He has already completed two major portions of shooting schedules.
