Twenty
members
of
the
Karnataka
Film
Chamber
of
Commerce
(KFCC)
have
resigned
from
their
posts
late
on
Wednesday
night.
These
members
belonging
to
various
categories
like
producers,
distributors
and
exhibitors,
had
difference
of
opinion
over
the
decision
of
indefinite
Bundh
call
taken
by
the
President
of
KFCC,
Basanth
Kumar
Patil.
Protesting
his
decision,
they
even
demanded
his
resignation
of
from
his
post.
On
Monday,
Basanth
Kumar
Patil
held
a
meeting
with
the
members
of
the
KFCC
and
charted
out
certain
problems
and
said
that
he
had
brought
these
problems
to
the
notice
of
Karnataka
Govt.
Meanwhile,
he
announced
that
the
KFCC
and
Kannada
film
industry
will
stop
working
from
December
01
if
those
problems
would
not
be
fulfilled.
Sources
claim
that
the
President
had
taken
the
decision
of
indefinite
Bundh
call
without
consulting
other
members.
This
has
irked
a
few
producers
like
Sandesh
Nagaraj,
Rockline
Venkatesh,
Sa
Ra
Govindu,
Anaji
Nagaraj,
BN
Gangadhar,
K
Manju
including
few
other
exhibitors
and
distributors,
who
resigned
their
posts
on
Wednesday.
These
members
group
has
opposed
the
indefinite
Bundh
call
from
the
KFCC.
A
few
actors
also
claim
that
the
indefinite
closure
of
industry
is
cannot
solve
all
the
problems.
Rockline
Venkatesh
said
that
instead
of
doing
developmental
works,
Basanth
Kumar
was
creating
new
controversies
in
the
KFCC.
He
said,
“There
could
not
have
been
so
many
problems
if
the
President
knew
about
the
difficulties
and
failures
faced
many
people
in
films
industry.
Basanth
Kumar
Patil
is
neither
a
full-fledged
producer,
nor
director
nor
exhibitor.
Such
a
person
becoming
our
president
is
the
biggest
tragedy
of
the
KFCC."
Basant
Kumar
Patil's
resignation
is
the
only
solution
to
all
these
problems.
So
20
producers
including
a
few
executive
members
and
exhibitors
are
putting
pressure
on
him.
Now,
the
question
is
whether
the
President
will
take
back
his
indefinite
Bundh
call
and
resign
from
his
post
or
continue
as
the
President
of
KFCC
by
sticking
to
his
stand
on
Bundh
call.
