launched
two
Kannada
films
last
Sunday.
One
of
the
two
films
is
titled
Bettada
Jeeva
and
the
other
is
Hejjegalu.
Baby
Prakruthi
plays
the
central
in
the
children
film
Hejjegalu.
Bettada
Jeeva
is
based
on
a
novel
by
Jnanapeeth
Award
winner
Dr
Shivarama
Karanth.
It
was
written
78
years
ago
and
now
it
will
be
directed
into
a
Kannada
film
by
director
P
Sheshadri.
Hejjegalu
is
a
children
film
and
award
winning
director
P
Ramdas
Naidu
will
be
directing
it.
Speaking
on
the
occasion,
Basanth
Kumar
Patil
said
that
he
was
extremely
blessed
because
the
event
had
been
attended
by
Infosys
founder
NR
Narayana
Murthy
and
Sudha
Murthy.
He
was
also
happy
because
the
films
were
being
launched
on
108
birth
anniversary
of
Dr
Shivarama
Karanth.
Director
P
Sheshadri,
who
has
won
awards
continuously
for
six
films
at
the
state
as
well
as
national
level,
said
that
he
was
taking
the
challenge
of
a
directing
a
movie
on
a
78
year
old
novel
when
he
is
just
48
years
old.
He
is
searching
for
a
house
in
Puttur
taluk
of
Dakshin
Kannada
district
for
taking
shots
for
his
film,
which
is
based
on
the
backdrop
of
quit
India
movement.
