Director
Guruprasad
has
finally
launched
his
next
movie
titled
Director's
Special
yesterday
evening
(Friday,
27th
August)
at
a
grand
function
held
at
the
Puttanna
Kanagal
Floor
of
Abbaiah
Naidu
Studios.
Raghavendra
Rajkumar
clapped
the
board,
while
crazy
star
Ravichandran
switched
on
the
camera.
Meanwhile,
Rebel
star
Ambareesh
unveiled
Guruprasad's
Kannada
book
titled
'Cinema
Madalagada
Kathegalu'
and
presented
a
copy
of
it
to
all
the
dignitaries
on
the
dais.
The
movie
Director's
Special
is
being
produced
by
M
Govindu.
After
its
muhurtha
function,
the
producer
addressed
the
media
and
said,
"I
wanted
to
contribute
something
different
to
the
Kannada
films
industry.
I
know
Guruprasad
is
a
wonderful
director.
In
direction
and
writing
story,
screenplay
and
dialogues,
he's
totally
different
from
other
directors
of
Sandalwood.
That's
why
I
decided
to
team
up
with
him
to
fulfill
my
wish."
Anoop
Sileen
is
composing
music
for
the
five
songs
of
the
film
Director's
Special.
The
upcoming
musician,
who
was
present
on
the
occasion,
said,
"Infact,
Guruprasad
gave
me
the
first
chance
to
prove
my
talent
in
films.
Eddelu
Manjunatha
was
my
first
movie,
but
it
was
released
late
due
to
some
problem.
However,
I
owe
my
success
to
Guru
sir.
Now,
I
thank
him
for
giving
me
another
opportunity
in
his
film."
Later,
Guruprasad
took
the
mike
and
introduced
the
technical
team
members
like
Mahendra
Simha,
cinematographer
PL
Ravi,
musician
Anoop
Seelin,
choreographer
Chandra
Mayur
and
editor
Kemparaju.
He
thanked
them
all
for
joining
hands
with
him.
He
said,
"If
Director's
Special
turns
out
to
be
a
big
hit,
then
the
credit
goes
to
all
these
people
(Technical
team).
If
it
fails
at
the
Box
Office,
I'll
be
responsible
for
it.
Because
there
are
lots
of
things
connected
to
literature
and
grammer
in
story,
which
are
sure
to
affect
the
film."
When
asked
about
the
songs
of
Director's
Special,
Guru
said,
"We
haven't
finalised
songs
and
shooting
location
yet.
However,
there
will
be
five
songs
in
Director's
Special.
Me,
Jayanth
Kaikini,
V
Manohar,
Yograj
Bhat
and
MN
Vyasa
Rao
are
writing
the
lyrics,
which
will
be
very
interesting."
Besides
direction,
Guru
has
penned
story,
screenplay
and
dialogues
for
Director's
Special.
Earlier,
he
was
considering
roping
in
comedian
Komal
Kumar
for
the
lead
role,
but
he
rejected
the
offer
after
listening
the
story.
So
the
selection
of
hero,
heroine
and
other
starcast
is
yet
to
be
done.
Talking
about
the
cast,
Guru
said,
"I
haven't
zeroed
in
on
any
starcast
yet.
I'll
announce
the
cast
details
in
the
next
press
meet."
However,
the
muhurtha
of
Director's
Special
was
a
grand
event.
Several
Kannada
celebrities
and
technicians
had
attended
the
event.
Another
speciality
of
the
event
was
the
release
of
Guru's
book
and
this
had
made
thousands
of
his
close
friends
and
fans
gather
at
Abbaiah
Naidu
Studios
on
Friday
evening.
Oneindia
wishes
all
the
success
to
director
Guruprasad.
