Dr Rajkumar's 82nd birthday at Ravindra Kalakshetra

Several Kannada organisations are celebrating late veteran Kannada actor Dr Rajkumar's 82nd birthday today. For the first time, Karnataka Government has also planned to celebrate Annavara birthday on 24 April in a special way. That's why the Govt has organised a grand function in Bangalore.

Rajanna's birthday function will be held at the Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bangalore at 6.00 pm today. The Govt has planned to hold several programmes to remember Rajanna's acting and simple life style. A 15 minutes video clipping including Rajkumar's excellent acting scenes will be screened and a programme of 60 minutes that consists his superhit song will be broadcast on the occasion.

Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa will innaugarate the function and Dr. D Hemchandrasagar, MLA of Chikkapeth, will preside over the function. Ministers Katta Subramanya Naidu, R Ashok, Dr. Mukhyamantri Chandru, Jaggesh, MLC Doddarangegowda, Prof KS Nisar Ahmed, Producer Parvathamma Rajkumar and her family members will be present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rajkumar family has instituted three awards in his name to recognize excellence in cinema. The award will be given by 'The Dr Rajkumar Trust'. Parvathamma Rajkumar gave away the awards to director Bhagwan, Senior character artistes Shantamma and Shivaram at a function today morning.
