Dwarakish drops Vishnu, takes up Sampath?

Producer Dwarakish has finally given up his fight over the title Vishnuvardhana. Now, the comedian has reportedly applied for the title Sampath Kumar for his upcoming movie, which stars Sudeep, Bhavana and Priyamani in the leads. The movie has been tentatively named as Production No. 47.

Earlier, Dwarakish had applied for the title Vishnuvardhana for his latest film. But it had hit a big controversy after actress Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhan objected him using her husband's name stating that he was planning to cash in the name of Vishnu. Even Vishnu Sena has protested and condemned his act.

Dr. Bharathi had urged Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) not to allow him to use her husband's name for commercial purpose. So KFCC had not granted the title. Irked by this decision, Dwarki had considered knocking the doors of court for justice.

Sources claim that he has now decided to use the name Sampath Kumar as the title of his forthcoming film. Sampath Kumar is the original name of late Dr. Vishnu, but director Puttanna Kangal had rechristened him as Vishnuvardhan. Sources claim that the title Sampath Kumar might again land him at trouble.

However, Dwarakish has already started shooting for the film with the tentative title Production No. 47. Directed by KS Ravikumar, the film has completed filming for more than 30 days. Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who is playing villain, recently attended the shooting at Kanakapura road in Bangalore.
