Geetha Priya to be chief guest at Belli Hejje

Senior Kannada film director and lyricist Geetha Priya was the special guest at Belli Hejje, a chat organized by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy on Saturday at 4.30 pm at Badami House in Bangalore between stalwarts.

Geetha Priya, whose real name is Lakshman Rao Mohithe, has directed 30 films. He had chased his dream of becoming an actor by doing theatre plays in Chennai in the mid 50's. He then wrote the lyrics for Sri Rama Pooja in 1954.

Geetha Priya"s lyrics in Sriramanjaneya Yudha, Nagapooja, Onde Balliya Hoogalu, Bettada Huli, Hombisiluwere were highly appreciated. He also wrote the dialogues for 45 films. He turned director with Mannina Maga, which won the national award. Some of his popular films are Beluvaladha Madilalli, Besuge, Hombisilu,Putani Agent 1 2 3, Preethisi Nodu.
