Girish Kasaravalli speaks at Shimoga

Four times Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) winner, director Girish Kasaravalli received the best film award at the state level and for national honor at the 55th annual national film awards in a majestic ceremony on Sunday evening at Nehru Stadium in his hometown Shimoga.

The director addressed the audience expressing that he used to play sports like Kabbaddi and badminton at the Nehru Stadium when he was young and would hear speeches of Ram Manohar Lohia in his school and college days.

He stated that though the government is giving benefits like 'Kamadhenu", good quality films are not being produced. He also feels that the relief of the government, though utilized well in Maharashtra, is not the same in Karnataka.
