Gubbachchigalu screening at Chitravarsha on June 12, 13

Chitravarsha, an ambitious initiative of Chitrasamooha to screen award winning Kannada films on every weekend, has successfully completed two weeks and entering the third week. This weekend i.e. June 12th (Saturday) and 13th (Sunday), Gubbachchigalu (Sparrows), which has been produced by B Suresha and Shylaja Nag and directed by Abhaya Simha, is being screened.

The screening of Gubbachchigalu will be held at 6:30 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets for each show will be available at the venue (Suchitra film society, Bangalore) from evening 5:30pm onwards. Please come and bring all film enthusiasts.

The following is brief information about the movie Gubbacchigalu (Sparrows)

Synopsis: Amidst the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle of a sprawling city, two children go on a quest to find 'their" missing sparrow. This film Gubbacchigalu (Sparrows) takes us on a journey, along with the children, Ila and Anirudhdha, as they pursue the elusive sparrow.

They set off from home with a guilt-ridden conscience that they may have been responsible for the sparrow"s disappearance. But it is their innocence and curiosity that take them on a trail of learning and discovery as they arrive at unusual places and meet unusual people. Everyone they meet says that there are sparrows around; but are these birds really there? Unable to find even a single sparrow in sight, the children"s anxiety and guilt only grows, after each encounter. Do the children finally find the sparrow? The once ubiquitous sparrow is now almost an extinct species. This movie brings into sharp focus the realities of urban life, the curiosity of young minds and the dwindling biodiversity of our surroundings.
