The much-expected Kannada movie Jackie has finally cleared the Censor test. Puneet Rajkumar-Bhavana starrer film has got a 'U/A certificate' from the Karnataka Regional Censor Board. The film is now all set to release across the state this Friday on October 14.
The big-budget movie Jackie has been directed by Janglee fame Suri and produced by Raghavendra Rajkumar. It has been shot in the beautiful locations of Somwarpet, Kushalnagar, Bangalore and Mysore. A few song sequences have been shot in African nations like Namibia and Austria.
The film has five songs and Yogaraj Bhat has written lyrics for all the songs. The music of the film was released in August and songs like 'Shiva Antha Goguthidde...', 'Edavatha Aithu...', sung by Puneet, and title track 'Jackie...' have already become very popular and topped the music charts.
Moreover, the distribution rights of Jackie are said to have been sold for more than Rs. 10 crores, which is the highest amount earned from distribution rights in the history of Kannada film industry so far. The bosses of the film say that it will set a new record at the Sandalwood Box Office too.
However, the music of Jackie has already created lot of curiosity among the Kannada audience. Recently, the promos of the film have been released to all Kannada TV channels and they doubled their curiosity. Especially Puneet fans are eagerly waiting to watch Jackie in the first show.
But the bosses of Jackie are said to be a little anxious because Rajinikanth's Endhiran is still running in many theatres in the state. And Sudeep's Kichcha Huchcha is also hitting several theatres in the state this week. Now, the question is whether Jackie will face the tough competition from these two films and create a record at the Box Office.
Oneindia wishes good luck to Jackie team.
