Shivaraj Kumar's 99 film Mylari is said to have broken all the records at the Box Office. Sources claim that the movie has earned nearly 1.7 crore on the first day of its release. According to Gandhinagar Pandits, this amount is more than the first day collection of Upendra's movie Super, which had hit the theates three weeks ago. The means Mylari has beaten the record of Super.
Mylari has been directed by R Chandru and produced by KP Srikanth and Kanakapur Srinivas under the banner RS Productions. The film was released in 130 centres on 24th December and it has got more than expected results in northern part of Karnataka. It is said that the film has witnessed seven shows on the first day of its release in Bellary and Hospet. Several audience had to stand and watch the film in these areas.
The Christmas Day was also plus point for the film Mylari. The movie has continued to earn the same amount of money on Saturday and Sunday. It is said that the distributors had bought the rights of the film for a huge amount of money. Now, they are said to be happy with big opening of the film at the Box Office. It should be recalled that its audio had set a new record in music industry within two days of its launch.
However, 2010 seems to be very fortunate year for Kannada films. Several movies set records at the Box office. Earlier, Pancharangi created a new history at the collection centres by earning nearly Rs one crore on the first day of its release. This record was broken by Jackie with its collection crossing Rs one crore. Later, Uppi's Super topped the Box Office chart with its collection nearing Rs 1.5 crore on its opening day. Now, Mylari has erased all those records with its earning crossing Rs. 1.7 crore.
