Saiprakash attempts suicide

Senior director Saiprakash, who has done several brother-sister sentimental movies, has attempted suicide. The Kannada director had taken different types of tablets at his Vijaynagar residence in Bangalore on Saturday afternoon. His wife Rajamma rushed him to the hospital when she found him struggling in his bed.

It is said that the reason behind the attempt is that the failure of the Shivaraj Kumar and Meera Jasmine starrer Devaru Kotta Thangi. The movie was released in November 2009. The director had lots of expectation, but it utterly failed to get him back his investments. Sources claim that Saiprakash has sold one of his properties, but it could suffice to clear his debts and this forced him to commit suicide.

Before taking tablets he had sent an SMS to his friend and producer Josaiman stating "He is committing suicide due to the pressure form Thyagu and his men. Immediately after receiving the message, Joe Simon tried to call him, but he did not receive his calls.

However, he was admitted to the hospital and put in ICU immediately after his attempt. Now, he is recovering, say the hospital sources.
