Singam to be remade in Kannada as Kempe Gowda

Producer Shankare Gowda has acquired the rights of remaking the hit Tamil movie Singam in Kannada. Suriya and Anushka played the lead roles in the original Tamil movie. Actor Sudeep has been chosen to play the lead hero in the Kannada version of the film, which is titled Kempe Gowda.

Actor turned director Sudeep, who earlier directed Gowda"s movie Just Maath Maathalli, will be directing Kempe Gowda. The earlier movie starred Ramya opposite Sudeep himself and could not do well at the box office. So, this could be the compensation to the producer from Sudeep.

On the other hand, Sudeep has already shot for the upcoming Kannada movie Kanwarlal for few days. So, would it be possible for him to continue with it if he starts shooting for Kempe Gowda both as director and lead actor? Some other sources are quoted saying that the content of Kempe Gowda has close similarity with that of his earlier film Thirupathi, which flopped at the box office. So, considering this fact, it is really doubtful what will be the ultimate decision of Sudeep.

Kempe Gowda was the name of the person, who founded Bengaluru. That is why many people believe that a movie on his name should have an original subject.
