Sandalwood stars excited about South Scope Awards

South Indian popular English magazine South Scope, which speciasizes in news on South Indian films like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, had launched Southscope Style Awards in 2009. And the event had seen a big success. Now, the magazine bosses are ready for second film Awards. Kannada stars like Diganth, Nidhi Subbaiah, Sharmila Mandre, Sanjjana and Jennifer Kotwal unveiled the nomination list of the Lux Sandal South Scope Cine Awards 2010 for Kannada films at a grand event held in Taj Residency, Bangalore yesterday (September 05).

Addressing the media, Krishnamurthy, MD and Publisher of the South Scope magazine, said, "The magazine is dedicated to the films of the South Indian languages like Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam because several movies are made simultaneously in all the four languages. They are connected to each other. So we decided to show the greatness of all these movies to the world through an English magazine. It was started in 2009, but it has seen huge success and popularity in South and North India as well."

Rajendra Prasad, the CEO of the Sprint Media, is one among the sponsors of the Lux Sandal South Scope Cine awards 2010. Talking about the awards, he said, "As a marketing partner, I would like to say that the Southscope Style Awards 2009 has become big success. Now, this event is going to witness even bigger success than last year. This year, we are putting in lots of efforts to make it a never before event."

Actress Sharmila Mandre, who has received the best Kannada actress award last year, expressed her gratitude to the bosses of the magazine. She said, "South Scope is a very popular magazine in South India. These days, it is getting huge demand from North too. It's encouraging all the actors, actresses and directors of all South Indian films. I got best Kannada actress award last year and I'm very thankful it. I'm all excited to attend this year's grand gala event.

Sanjjana praised the magazine for its great work. She said, "Last year, I could not make it to the award event. I'll definitely attend the function this year. Actually, we needed an English magazine to reach out the class audience and South Scope has done it. I'm thankful to it's bosses. Now, I'm all excited to attend the award function."

Jennifer Kotwal said, "Due to some problem, I was not able to attend the Southscope Style Awards in 2009. This year, I'm planning to grace the occasion. South Scope Magazine has gained big popularity in a very short span of time. This year, the magazine bosses have planned to honour all the actors, which is really great of them."

Pancharangi fame actors Diganth and Nidhi Subbaiah, who were present on the occasion, thanked the magazine for the kind of publicity it is getting to the actors of South Indian films. They wished it would grow more in the coming years. Meanwhile, they also expressed their excitement about the Lux Sandal South Scope Cine Awards 2010.

However, South Scope has followed a stringent selection process by eminent jury personalities and professionals from both film and music fraternity. Lux Sandal South Scope Cine Awards 2010 will be held at HICC in Hyderabad on September 19, 2010. The grand gala event will witness one of the biggest assemblages of film stars on a single platform.
