As the activities for BBMP elections 2010 are going hotter, several senior Kannada celebrities have taken leave from their filmy works and are participating in political activities. Sandalwood actors Ambareesh, Tara, Umashri, Jaggesh and many others are busy campaigning for the different political parties.

Popular Kannada actors like Shruthi, Mukhyamantri Chandru, Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh and Dialogue King Saikumar are campaigning for the BJP party in BBMP elections 2010. They do not seem to return to their colourful world until the voting is over.

Even the Congress party has not lagged behind in wooing stars to campaign for their party. National Award winner actress Umashri, former MP Ambareesh, MLA BC Patil have come down to the road and are begging votes for Congress.

Another specility of campaigning for the BBMP elections 2010 is small screen actors. As small screen actors are very popular in most homes, political parties are using then to campaign. This is a new trend and Ravi Kiran, the president of Kannada TV Artistes Association, actor-cum-producer KP Nanjundi, Vanitha Vaasu and others are busy campaigning for the BBMP elections.
