announced
the
addition
of
two
special
awards
from
next
year
in
the
name
of
legendary
actor
Dr.
Vishnuvardhan
and
KS
Ashwath.
He
said
that
a
memorial
in
the
name
of
Dr.
Vishnuvardhan
would
also
be
built
soon,
which
he
had
announced
after
his
death.
After
distributing
Karnataka
State
Film
Awards
2007-2008
on
Sunday
at
Shimoga,
BS
Yediyurappa
addressed
the
function
and
said
that
the
state
government
has
instituted
the
Dr.
Vishnuvardhan
Life
Time
Achievement
award.
This
award
will
be
given
to
those
who
have
worked
for
the
progress
of
the
Kannada
film
industry.
He
also
announced
another
special
award
for
the
best
supporting
actor
and
it
will
be
instituted
in
the
name
of
late
film
artist
KS
Ashwath.
He
also
promised
that
his
government
would
help
the
Kannada
film
industry
to
make
quality
films.
Meanwhile,
he
gave
away
the
Dr.
Rajkumar
Life
Time
Achievement
award
for
the
year
2008
and
actress
Bharathi
received
the
same
on
behalf
of
her
late
husband
Vishnuvardhan.
Parvathamma
Rajkumar
was
also
honoured
with
the
Life
Time
Achievement
award
for
her
services
to
the
industry.
Powerstar
Puneet
Rajkumar
and
Umashri
bagged
the
best
actor
and
actress
awards
for
their
performances
in
the
films
Milana
and
Gulabi
Talkies
respectively.
