Arun Kumar denies ditching Harish Raj's Gun for Kempe Gowda

Arun Kumar, the proprietor of the Santosh Theatre, has denied his plans to stop the screening of film Harish Raj's Gun. He states that he had not decided to take out the movie from theatre for Sudeep's Kempe Gowda. The director had claimed that his movie was being taken out in just two weeks. So in order to protest the decision of the theatre management, he attempted to commit suicide by jumping off from the roof of the theatre on Saturday.

Talking to Kannada news channel TV9, Ajay Kumar said, "Santosh theatre is not fixed for Kempe Gowda as Harish claimed it. I have not told either Harish Raj or producer Murali about taking out the movie Gun and screening Sudeep directed movie Kempe Gowda. I objected them about issuing gift coupons. So Harish might have mistaken this to that we are going to stop exhibiting Gun and played the suicide drama."

The bosses of the film Gun were issuing a gift coupon to the people, who bought the audio CDs of the film. The owners of Santosh theatre questioned this because hardly a few viewers were buying tickets from the ticket counter at the theatre. Arun Kumar further said, "Gun producers are buying tickets and issuing them in the name of gift coupon. I don't know whether they are distributing them freely or charging money for them. But I requested Harish to stop issuing gift coupons to the viewers."

However, Arun Kumar called Harish's suicide attempt a drama. He said, "Harish might have felt that we are going to stop screening of Gun, when we objected issuing gift coupons. So he has played the suicide drama. I haven't told him about taking out the movie from the theatre." Meanwhile, he denied that he had planned to exhibit. He added, "We have not given confirmation to the producers of Kempe Gowda to screen it. As of now, we have not planned to remove Gun and exhibit Kempe Gowda."
