For
the
first
time,
the
Karnataka
government
has
planned
to
organise
an
international
film
festival
in
Bangalore.
Chief
Minister
BS
Yeddyurappa
has
already
formed
a
festival
committee
and
ordered
to
start
the
preparatory
works
for
the
grand
event,
which
will
be
held
in
December,
2011.
Recently,
Ramesh
B
Zalaki,
Secretary
for
Kannada
and
Culture
Department,
chaired
a
preliminary
meeting
of
the
festival
committee.
Talking
about
the
film
fest,
Ramesh
said
that
Chief
Minister
BS
Yeddyurappa
had
earmarked
Rs
five
crore
for
the
festival
and
Rs
1.5
crore
had
been
released
for
preparatory
works.
However,
noted
director
TS
Nagabharana,
who
is
the
Chairman
of
Kannada
Film
Academy,
has
been
selected
as
the
director
of
the
Bangalore
International
Film
Festival.
National
Award
winner
director
Girish
Kasaravalli
will
be
the
adviser
for
the
organising
Committee.
