Ramachandra,
who
had
worked
for
the
award
winning
films
like
Ghatashraddha
and
Deveeri,
has
died
of
respiratory
problems
in
Bangalore
today.
The
82-year-old
cinematographer
was
suffering
from
ill-health
and
was
recently
admitted
to
the
Bangalore
Institute
of
Oncology,
where
he
was
pronounced
dead
this
afternoon
(10th
January,
2011).
S
Ramachandra
entered
film
industry
as
a
cameraman
in
1960s
and
he
had
worked
for
more
than
75
projects,
which
included
both
Kannada,
Hindi
movies
and
TV
series.
He
is
known
for
his
wonderful
picturisation
in
the
movies
like
Yaadein,
Ghatashraddha,
Chomana
Dudi,
Rushya
Shringa,
Akramana,
Mane,
Deveeri
and
TV
series
'Malgudi
Days'.
Ramachandra
won
several
awards
for
his
cinematography.
He
won
Best
Cinematographer
National
Film
Award
for
Kannada
feature
film
Rishya
Shringa
in
1977.
He
had
honoured
with
the
Lifetime
Achievement
Award,
given
by
Karnataka
State
Film
Awards
in
the
year
2006.
Now,
his
sudden
demise
has
shocked
the
film
industry.
