The
Kannada
Film
Industry
has
declared
a
five-day
holiday
in
view
of
the
World
Kannada
Summit
(Vishwa
Kannada
Sammelana)
to
be
held
in
Belgaum
next
month.
The
Summit
will
be
held
between
March
09
and
11
and
the
Sandalwood
has
decided
to
stop
all
its
activities
and
fresh
releases
to
take
part
in
it.
Kannada
producers,
directors
associations
and
Karnataka
Film
Chambers
of
Commerce
(KFCC)
held
a
press
meet
to
announce
this
on
Monday.
Basanth
Kumar
Patil,
the
President
of
KFCC,
said
"Except
for
exhibition
of
films,
all
other
film-related
works
including
shooting,
production
would
not
be
held
from
March
09
to
13."
However,
the
World
Kannada
Summit
is
being
held
after
a
gap
of
over
two
decades.
So
the
industry
has
planned
to
extend
its
support
to
make
it
a
big
success.
KCN
Chandrashekhar,
MS
Ramesh
and
Ashok,
who
were
also
present
at
the
press
meet,
told
that
a
delegation
of
500
people,
including
artistes,
technicians,
producers
and
workers
would
participate
in
the
event.
