Kannada Film Industry taking 5 days off to attend WKS

The Kannada Film Industry has declared a five-day holiday in view of the World Kannada Summit (Vishwa Kannada Sammelana) to be held in Belgaum next month. The Summit will be held between March 09 and 11 and the Sandalwood has decided to stop all its activities and fresh releases to take part in it.

Kannada producers, directors associations and Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce (KFCC) held a press meet to announce this on Monday. Basanth Kumar Patil, the President of KFCC, said "Except for exhibition of films, all other film-related works including shooting, production would not be held from March 09 to 13."

However, the World Kannada Summit is being held after a gap of over two decades. So the industry has planned to extend its support to make it a big success. KCN Chandrashekhar, MS Ramesh and Ashok, who were also present at the press meet, told that a delegation of 500 people, including artistes, technicians, producers and workers would participate in the event.
