Kannada stars back Anna Hazare's Jana Lokpal Bill

Anna Hazare's movement for Jana Lokpal Bill is getting huge support from every nook and corner of India. Many Kannada stars have also backed Hazare's demand for anti-corruption bill. Today, Kannada film industry will go to the Freedom Park in Bangalore to show their support Anna Hazare.

Kannada actor Shivaraj Kumar, who is basking on the success of his 100th movie Jogayya, visited the Freedom Park last week. Addressing the rally, Shivanna requested every one to support Anna. "As a citizen, it is my right to ask for the Jan Lokpal Bill. Anna has opened our eyes. We should not stop the fight," the Deccan Herald quotes him as saying.

Another Sandalwood star Ramesh Aravind has also backed Anna's movement at Freedom Park. "The more central government tries to curb Anna's movement, the more support Anna will get because it is the agitation of people, who are very badly affected by corruption. Anna's demands are just. Every person in the country is subjected to scrutiny by the Lok Pal bill."

Popular playback singer Chaithra also took part in the protest rally organised at the Freedom Park on n Wednesday and sang patriotic songs. "Every activity in our lives has been touched by corruption and all of us have become victims of corrupt practices indulged by government and non-government agencies. All of us have to fight against corruption and the best way is to rally behind Anna who is a true Gandhian and has fought many successful battles against corruption," the NDTV quotes her as saying

A few Kannada celebrities expressed their support to Anna on social networking sites Facebook and Twitter. First among them is none other than Golden girl Ramya, who sent a quiver in Kannada film industry through her tweets. The actress tweeted, "More power to Anna. praying for Hazaar more like him."

However, several stars backed the rally on their own. But today, Kannada movie industry is officially going to express its support to Anna Hazare in fighting corruption. People from the industry are going in a procession from Karnataka film Chamber of Commerce to Freedom Park at 11 am today.
